Job summary

AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER (AEP) in Kentucky is seeking an experienced Project Manager Staff to lead complex EPC programs in a matrix environment. You will direct project activities, manage scope, schedule and budget, and communicate with internal/external customers and regulators.

Experience across construction, IT systems, and utility projects is preferred. The role requires PMP certification (or waiver) and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in construction management, engineering, business, computer science or related field
• PMP certification preferred; valid driver’s license
• Proven experience in project management, cost estimating, controls and risk management

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert level of proficiency in Waterfall and Agile methodologies
• Ensure safety and Zero Harm across project teams and contractors
• Develop and manage project plan, schedule, budget, tools and staff; control costs and reallocate funding
• Communicate project status and details to stakeholders; lead meetings and present complex information
• Foster relationships with internal/external customers, vendors and regulators; drive customer satisfaction
