Job summary

Kentucky Power, part of American Electric Power, seeks a senior Project Manager to lead highly complex programs within a matrix environment. You will initiate, plan, execute, monitor and close projects using Waterfall and Agile methodologies, ensuring safety and value for internal and external customers.

You will build relationships with stakeholders, manage scope, schedule and budgets, and provide clear written and oral reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with ten (10) years of qualified experience.
• PMP certification required unless waiver is granted by leadership.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Experience in project management, major construction, project controls and cost estimating.
• Experience in utilities, commercial nuclear power, or IT systems is favorable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and manage assigned project activities with expert proficiency in Waterfall and Agile.
• Support safety and accountability under the AEP System Safety Process to ensure Zero Harm.
• Manage project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staff and reallocate funding as needed.
• Communicate status and results to stakeholders with detailed presentations and reports.
• Develop working relationships with teams, customers, contractors, vendors, and regulators.
• Provide guidance and training to improve design, processes, schedules and costs.
• Represent AEP with industrial customers, vendors and regulators as required.
