Kay & Co in Manhattan is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead commercial interiors projects from preconstruction through closeout, serving as the main point of contact for clients, architects and subcontractors.

You will own the schedule and budget, oversee buyout and change orders, and collaborate with superintendents to keep the work safe, on time, and on budget. Mentorship of junior staff is also expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years managing commercial interiors projects in Manhattan.
• A GC or CM delivering corporate fitouts.
• Strong financial control and client communication.
• Procore or similar project management software.

THE COMPANY

Our client is a Manhattan construction manager founded in the 2010s. They've built a strong reputation for corporate interiors, alongside healthcare, education and hospitality work. The team is small and senior. That means you'll have real visibility with leadership and no layers of management between you and the decisions.

THE ROLE

You'll run commercial interiors projects from preconstruction through closeout, as the main point of contact for clients, architects and subcontractors. The client base is demanding and the schedules are tight. They need someone who stays calm when the pressure is on and keeps a job moving.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead multiple interiors projects through every phase, from budget to handover
• Own the schedule, the budget and the client relationship
• Manage buyout, subcontractor coordination and change orders
• Work closely with superintendents to keep jobs safe, on time and on budget
• Mentor project managers and assistant project managers

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 8+ years managing commercial interiors projects in Manhattan
• A track record with a GC or CM delivering corporate fitouts
• Strong financial control and confident client communication
• Procore or similar project management software
• A degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar is preferred

A firm small enough that your work gets noticed, with a client list that keeps the pipeline full. Up to $210,000 base plus bonus, with a real say in how projects are run.
