Capstone Recruitment Inc. in partnership with an established New York contractor seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead interior fit-out projects in Manhattan.

You will own projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout, taking responsibility for budgets, schedules, procurement, subcontractor coordination and clear client communication. Capstone Recruitment Americas is partnering with an established, mid-sized General Contractor with a strong reputation in New York’s commercial interiors market. The firm delivers high-quality projects for longstanding Fortune 500 clients across corporate interiors, hospitality, technology and life sciences.

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead interior fit-out projects in Manhattan. This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex construction projects, build lasting client relationships and contribute to a business recognised for the quality of its work.

The Role

You will manage projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout, taking responsibility for budgets, schedules, procurement, subcontractor coordination and client communication.

The position suits someone who can manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining close attention to detail. A background in architecture or design would be particularly valuable, enabling you to translate design intent into practical construction delivery and work effectively with architects, consultants and end-users.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of commercial interior fit-out projects, maintaining control of scope, cost, programme and quality.
• Develop and manage project budgets, construction schedules and procurement plans.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, designers and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the main client contact, providing clear updates and resolving issues promptly.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation.
• Work closely with site teams to monitor progress, address risks and maintain safety and quality standards.
• Oversee punch lists, handover and closeout, ensuring projects meet client expectations.

About You

• Degree-qualified in construction management, architecture, engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5–10 years of relevant industry experience, including around five years managing projects within a General Contractor.
• Proven experience delivering fast-paced, high-quality interior fit-outs, ideally within commercial offices.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, procurement and subcontractor management skills.
• Confident managing multiple projects and communicating with clients and senior stakeholders.
• An architectural or design practice background before moving into construction delivery would be advantageous.
