Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead plant engineering projects across multiple sites in Kentucky. You will manage capital projects, drive safety standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, compliant solutions.

You will own projects from initiation to close, with budgets often exceeding $1MM, travel about 50%, and report to the Plant Engineering group. Strong communication and CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required; degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Preferred
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to conceptualize, design, lead, and manage projects
• Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; 2D CAD experience preferred
• Foundational business acumen and understanding of capex vs. opex preferred
• Minimum 7 years of experience required
• Experience leading people daily whether direct or indirect management
• Experience running at least 3 projects in excess of $1MM

Responsibilities

• Own projects at multiple sites from start to finish with projects periodically exceeding $1MM
• Present major projects to senior and business group leadership
• Plan and manage capital projects or support plant personnel as required
• Establish guidelines for plant systems to ensure proper maintenance and safety standards
• Report and implement corporate best practices across facilities
• Communicate best practices and lead training for technical teams at the site level
• Identify and drive cost-reduction opportunities related to utilities and efficiency improvements
• Annual savings and avoidance targets in excess of $750K
• Evaluate OEM vendors and build strategic relationships that support high-quality, cost-effective solutions with long-term value
• Provide infrastructure project priorities across business units
