Job summary

Amcor Flexibles, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to drive plant engineering projects and corporate programs spanning building systems, infrastructure and operational improvements across locations. You will lead capital projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and implement safety and efficiency standards.

The role emphasizes safeguarding operations, cost optimization, and delivering high-quality solutions, with travel up to 50% and collaboration across sites to meet business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent; chemical/mechanical preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proven ability to conceptualize, design, lead, and manage projects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; 2D CAD experience preferred.
• Foundational business acumen and understanding of capex vs. opex preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience required.
• Experience leading people daily whether direct or indirect management.
• Experience running at least 3 projects in excess of $1MM

Responsibilities

• Own projects at multiple sites from start to finish with projects periodically exceeding $1MM.
• Present major projects to senior and business group leadership.
• Plan and manage capital projects or support plant personnel as required.
• Establish guidelines for plant systems to ensure proper maintenance and safety standards.
• Report and implement corporate best practices across facilities.
• Communicate best practices and lead training for technical teams at the site level.
• Identify and drive cost-reduction opportunities related to utilities and efficiency improvements.
• Annual savings and avoidance targets in excess of $750K
• Evaluate OEM vendors and build strategic relationships that support high-quality, cost-effective solutions with long-term value.
• Support equipment moves, plant consolidations, and expansions to ensure infrastructure readiness.
• Evaluate plants during site visits to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure system issues and assist plants with problem resolution.
• Assess existing facilities or planned expansions to establish initial project budgets.
• Provide infrastructure project priorities across business units.
