The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is seeking a District 02-Unit 202 Project Engineer to oversee engineering and inspection activities for major highway and bridge construction projects. This role requires planning, directing, and coordinating staff and field operations in accordance with FHWA and DOTD procedures.

Qualified candidates must hold a Louisiana PE license with the specified experience, and be prepared to manage design changes, traffic control

Formación

• Current Louisiana Professional Engineer license.
• Three years of licensed engineering experience; or seven years of professional engineering experience.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and trains a staff of engineers and construction inspectors by planning, directing, and coordinating all engineering activities for the construction unit.
• Consults with contractors daily on issues such as project progress, plan changes, phasing of work, and traffic control.
• Approves and monitors erosion control plans and hazardous waste removal; enforces traffic control requirements on construction projects.
• Develops and writes change orders to solve complex problems and oversees equipment and vehicle allocation.
