Job summary

Licensure as a Louisiana Professional Engineer is required; out-of-state licenses may apply but must obtain Louisiana licensure prior to appointment.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Professional Engineer license required; out-of-state licensure applicants may need to obtain Louisiana license before appointment.
• No prior licensed engineering experience required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Assists with bridge and structural design activities for transportation infrastructure projects.
• Reviews or prepares plans, calculations, specifications, estimates, and structural details.
• Performs or assists with bridge load ratings, structural evaluations, or bridge preservation activities.
• Provides technical support related to bridge rehabilitation, replacement, preservation, or new capacity projects.
• Coordinates with project managers, consultants, districts, construction staff, and other internal or external partners.
• Reviews bridge-related project documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Supports development or maintenance of design guidance, standards, procedures, or technical documents.
• Assists with emergency response or technical reviews involving bridge or structural concerns.
