Qualifikationen

• Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering is required.
• Must have four years of licensed engineering experience or eight years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience substitutions exist for advanced degrees (master's/doctorate) with limits.
• License from other states acceptable with Louisiana licensure within appointment.
• No substitution for licensed engineering experience.

Aufgaben

• Direct statewide planning, development, and delivery of the construction program.
• Negotiate and resolve complex contract issues and time extensions with contractors and FHWA.
• Establish statewide policies, procedures, standards, and provide oversight to nine districts.
• Administer Construction Division operations including systems, estimates, claims, and training.
• Review and approve major plan changes for DOTD Chief Engineer approval.
• Approve project time charges and recommend liquidated damages adjustments.
• Recommend final acceptance of completed projects to the Chief Engineer.
• Provide technical construction expertise to engineers, contractors, legal staff, and stakeholders.
• Advise leadership on policy and project delivery improvements for highways and bridges.
• Perform duties including support for emergency and disaster response.
