Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for its Building & Construction team in Elmendorf, TX, with flexibility for hybrid or remote arrangements for qualified candidates. You will manage complex projects involving building envelope systems such as windows, storefronts, curtain walls, and doors, while guiding teams and ensuring conformance with codes and standards.

The role requires 5+ years in building design/construction, PE or EIT licensure, and the ability to travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical or similar).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in building design and construction, building envelope systems, facade engineering, structural engineering, building products, or related field.
• PE license or EIT certification with path to PE licensure within 24 months of hire.
• Strong ability to interpret architectural/engineering drawings, codes, standards, test methods, and technical docs.
• Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and client commitments.
• Willingness/ability to travel up to 15% and reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead building product projects, including project management and team leadership.
• Research building codes, regulations, product standards, manufacturing methods, and quality systems.
• Develop product test plans based on research findings.
• Communicate with clients on codes, test procedures, results, and audits.
• Perform engineering analysis of test results and report findings.
• Generate comprehensive reports substantiating conformance with codes and standards.
• Supervise lower-level engineers and technicians.
• Represent Intertek in industry associations and standards committees.
