Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for Building & Construction to manage complex facade and window systems projects in York, PA. The role includes leading project teams, conducting code research, and developing test plans, with travel up to 15% and potential hybrid/remote arrangements for qualified candidates.

Candidates should have a 5+ year track record in building design, PE or EIT, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical or similar).
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience in building design and construction, building envelope systems, facade engineering, structural engineering, building products, or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) OR Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with FE completion and ability to obtain PE within 24 months.
• Strong proficiency in interpreting drawings, building codes, standards, test methods, and technical documentation.
• Experience performing engineering analysis and applying engineering principles to building components and systems.
• Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and client commitments.
• Ability to communicate engineering requirements and results with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for building product projects, including PM and leading teams.
• Research building codes, regulations, product standards, and QC systems for conformance.
• Develop product test plans based on research findings.
• Communicate with clients on codes, test prep, procedures, results, and audits.
• Analyze test results to assess product performance.
• Create comprehensive reports substantiating conformance with codes and standards.
• Supervise and guide lower-level engineering staff.
• Represent Intertek in industry associations and standards committees.
