Job summary

Modern Construction Services is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects from onboarding through execution. You will coordinate documentation, track submittals, and assist with contract administration to ensure accurate, timely progress.

You will work with Project Managers and the Director of Operations, gaining exposure to higher-level management tasks and a clear path to advanced roles. On-site onboarding with hybrid flexibility after onboarding.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale commercial projects.
• Proficiency with Procore.
• Experience managing submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.
• Bilingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Build and maintain the contract item list — all items requiring submittal for architect or engineer approval.
• Manage submittal logs, RFI logs, and change order logs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Issue subcontractor contracts using established templates at project kickoff.
• Support scheduling updates and coordination between field and office teams.
• Maintain accurate project records and workflows in Procore.
• Prepare and distribute monthly project financial reports for management review.
