Job summary

Modern Construction Services is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to help deliver commercial construction projects with precision and strong documentation control. You will partner with Project Managers to track submittals, RFIs, and changes, while ensuring accurate records in Procore.

You will manage on-site onboarding with future hybrid flexibility after proven performance, supporting scheduling, coordination, and financial reporting to drive project success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale commercial projects.
• Experience managing submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Proficiency with Procore.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.
• Preferred: bilingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Build and maintain the contract item list — all items requiring submittal for architect or engineer approval.
• Manage submittal logs, RFI logs, and change order logs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Issue subcontractor contracts using established templates at project kickoff.
• Support scheduling updates and coordination between field and office teams.
• Maintain accurate project records and workflows in Procore.
• Prepare and distribute monthly project financial reports for management review.
