Job summary

Modern Construction Services in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer to support the delivery of commercial construction projects.

This on-site role offers hybrid flexibility after onboarding and reports to the Project Manager/Director of Operations. You will coordinate documentation, manage submittals and RFIs, and support contract administration while growing toward higher-level project management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale commercial projects.
• Proficiency with Procore.
• Experience managing submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Build and maintain the contract item list and submittal items.
• Manage submittal, RFI, and change order logs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Issue subcontractor contracts using templates at kickoff.
• Support scheduling updates and field-office coordination.
• Maintain accurate project records in Procore.
