Job summary

Modern Construction Services is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of commercial construction projects. This role blends technical project coordination with ensuring accuracy, organization, and commercial clarity, working with Project Managers to manage documentation and data in Procore.

The position offers on-site onboarding with hybrid flexibility after demonstrated performance. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in commercial construction and proficiency with Procore,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale commercial projects.
• Proficiency with Procore.
• Experience managing submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
• Build and maintain the contract item list — all items requiring submittal for architect or engineer approval.
• Manage submittal logs, RFI logs, and change order logs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Issue subcontractor contracts using established templates at project kickoff.
• Support scheduling updates and coordination between field and office teams.
• Maintain accurate project records and workflows in Procore.
• Prepare and distribute monthly project financial reports for management review.
• Work closely with Project Managers, General Superintendents, Estimators, and Accounting.
• Serve as a key point of contact for architects, engineers, clients, and subcontractors on document and submittal status.
• Support cross-functional communication to keep projects aligned and moving.
