KBR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Specialist, Project Controls to lead financial controls, budgeting, and EAC reporting for defense and intel initiatives. The role requires a deep understanding of EVMS, FAR/CAS, and government contracting processes within a hybrid work environment.

The position involves coordinating with program management, customers, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate forecasts and compliant financial deliverables. Travel is minimal.

Qualifications

• Four years of applicable experience in project controls or FP&A.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field.
• Knowledge of complex program management concepts (budgets, estimates to complete, schedules).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel skills and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and control WBS and lead project setup activities to ensure compliant cost charging, billing and revenue recognition.
• Forecast, budget, analysis, and reporting cycles including ETC/EAC, variance and trend analysis.
• Track funding, baselines, schedules and milestones; process scope changes as needed.
• Maximize project cashflow; review invoices and reconcile unbilled balances.
• Oversee subcontractor expenditures; analyze cost trends and prepare monthly accruals.
• Collaborate with Program Management and customers to deliver financial and contractual deliverables; prepare reports for stakeholders.
• Lead budget and forecast activities; document assumptions and evaluate risks.
• Reconcile weekly, monthly and cumulative costs with variance, trend analysis, and completion reports.
• Manage funding tracking and future cost projections based on productivity and price forecasts.
• Perform accounting tasks including journal entries and cost accruals.
• Develop price/cost estimates applying FAR, CAS and government standards.
