Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Program Manager to lead large, multi-disciplinary infrastructure programs in California. You will advise clients, plan and direct program execution, and manage diverse teams to meet complex objectives.

Preferred credentials include a Master’s degree and DBIA/PM certifications. Travel to client sites may be required as projects span multiple locations in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, construction management, sciences, planning or related field.
• PMP, PgMP, CMAA CCM, AICP, or PE license required or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years in program management with 4+ years as a Senior Program Manager.
• Experience leading multiple programs with high capital value (≥$500M each).
• Experience with alternative delivery methods (DB, PDB, CMAR).

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure programs with high technical complexity.
• Advise clients on technical, regulatory, financial, and community aspects.
• Plan, direct, and monitor program execution across multiple disciplines.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation and problem-solving strategies.
• Drive efficiencies, governance, and transparency across teams.
