Job summary

Markel is seeking an experienced claims professional to resolve moderate to high complexity program account claims. You will evaluate coverage, assess liability, and manage exposure while communicating progress to internal and external stakeholders.

Hybrid work is available, with some remote days and in-office collaboration. The role demands 5+ years in claims handling, an active adjuster license, and ongoing professional designations or training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Claims adjuster license required or eligible.
• Industry designations (INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU) or participation in industry training opportunities (CLM Claim College, Munich Re Training, FDCC, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions.
• Coordinates loss information for stakeholders and presents updates in meetings with underwriters and insureds.
• Directs and monitors assignments to experts and outside counsel; ensures vendor and litigation management.
• Prepares coverage position letters on matters typically in litigation without outside counsel.
• Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
• Travel to mediations, trials, and conferences as required.
