Job summary

Markel in Plano, TX, seeks a seasoned Claims Examiner to resolve moderate to high complexity program account claims. You’ll assess coverage, liability, and exposure, coordinating investigations and offering timely resolutions while maintaining SLAs.

Hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote) with potential full remote options based on location. Requires 5+ years in claims handling, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and an eligible claims adjuster license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Must have or be eligible for a claims adjuster license.
• Industry designations such as INS/IEA/AIC/ARM/SCLA/CPCU desired.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes coverage and communicates positions.
• Conducts investigation into loss facts and damages.
• Confirms coverage by reviewing policies and documents.
• Directs experts and outside counsel for moderate to high complexity claims.
• Negotiates and settles claims, including in litigation when needed.
