Job summary

Markel Group in Rosemont, Illinois, seeks an experienced Claims professional to resolve moderate to high complexity claims arising from Program accounts. You will evaluate coverage, assess liability, and manage exposure with timely, accurate resolutions.

The role involves training colleagues, coordinating with underwriters and insureds, and handling settlements, while adhering to service levels and guidelines across a hybrid/remote schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Must have or be eligible to receive claims adjuster license.
• Industry designations (INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU) or participation in industry training opportunities (CLM Claim College, Munich Re Training, FDCC, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions.
• Investigates loss facts and extent of damages.
• Confirms coverage by reviewing policies and documents.
• Directs and monitors assignments to experts and outside counsel.
• Negotiates and settles claims typically in litigation.
• Prepares coverage position letters and reports.
