Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Must have or be eligible to receive claims adjuster license.
• Industry designations (INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU) or equivalent training.
• Participation in industry training opportunities (CLM Claim College, Munich Re Training, FDCC, etc.).
• Minimum of 5 years of claims handling experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successful completion of 3 years as a Claims Examiner.
• Strong written and oral communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).

Aufgaben

• Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions.
• Conducts, coordinates, and directs investigation into loss facts and extent of damages.
• Confirms coverage by reviewing policies and supporting documents.
• Contributes to maintenance of claims guidelines and best practices.
• Coordinates loss information for stakeholders and presents in meetings with underwriters or insureds.
• Delivers technical training to colleagues and external contacts as appropriate.
• Directs and monitors assignments to experts and outside counsel; manages vendors and litigation.
• Evaluates coverage, liability, and damages to determine insured’s exposure.
• Negotiates and settles claims typically in litigation.
• Prepares coverage position letters typically in litigation.
• Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
• Participates in roundtables to senior claims leaders and underwriters on cases going to trial.
• Provides timely service and meets SLAs throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Sets reserves within authority or makes reserve-change recommendations.
• Travels to mediations, trials, and conferences as required.
• Uses appropriate investigation and settlement techniques for cost-effective closure.
