Job summary
Dow is seeking a Senior Production Engineer for its Knoxville, TN operations. You will optimize plant operations, resolve production issues, and ensure safe, cost-effective output. This role interfaces with Supply Chain and Technology to apply MET and automation expertise.
You will lead KPI tracking, support on-call rotations, and mentor plant personnel while maintaining permit compliance and operational discipline.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is required; chemical or mechanical preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant production engineering experience.
- US work authorization is required; no visa sponsorship offered.
Responsibilities
- Translate business production goals into plant targets and plans.
- Coordinate with supply chain for planning, shipping, and raw materials.
- Determine shutdown timing with cross-functional teams.
- Coach staff on performance metrics and daily data updates.
- Work with operations to solve problems using strong technical skills.
- Apply MET and automation tools to improve plant performance.
- Lead root-cause analysis for asset utilization losses.
- Review logbooks and alarms to stay engaged in daily ops.
- Maintain KPI trends and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Serve as unit technical expert during unplanned events.
- Oversee Raw Material Efficiency and compliance with permits.
