Job summary

Hippo is seeking a Senior Product Manager for the Underwriting Platform to own the end-to-end lifecycle of an AI-enabled risk platform. You will define multi-year strategy, collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Actuarial, and Underwriting, and drive measurable improvements in loss ratio, risk models, and automation.

The role requires 7+ years in product management, experience with risk platforms, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in product management with end-to-end lifecycle ownership.
• Experience with risk platforms, rules engines, ML models or decision automation.
• Translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical requirements.
• Proven ability to improve risk and efficiency metrics at scale.
• Set compelling vision for a technical domain while executing near-term.
• Strong stakeholder management across business, tech, and executives.
• Data-driven with strong analytics and defined success metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable storyteller for diverse audiences.
• PM experience in insurance, financial services, or adjacent industry.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the multi-year strategy and vision for Hippo's Underwriting Platform, including rules engine and AI workflows.
• Drive modernization and scalability of underwriting infrastructure to improve loss ratio and speed-to-market.
• Bridge Underwriting/Actuarial with Engineering to deliver on time and with quality.
• Translate complex risk requirements into actionable PRDs and acceptance criteria.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle from discovery to post-launch performance; measure outcomes.
