Job summary

Hippo is seeking a seasoned Senior Product Manager to own the Underwriting Platform at the intersection of risk, technology, and AI. You will define the multi-year strategy for the rules engine, risk models, and AI-enabled workflows, partnering with engineering and actuarial teams.

You will translate complex regulatory and business requirements into actionable roadmaps, drive initiatives that improve loss ratio and efficiency, and communicate progress to executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in product management with ownership of the backlog and end-to-end software delivery.
• Experience with risk platforms, rules engines, ML models or decision automation systems.
• Bridging business needs to technical requirements and engineering context.
• Proven track record improving risk and efficiency metrics at scale.
• Vision for technical domains with strong execution and communication.
• Strong stakeholder management across business, technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Define the multi-year product strategy and vision for Hippo's Underwriting Platform, including rules engine, risk models, and AI workflows.
• Identify opportunities to modernize UW infrastructure to improve loss ratio, accuracy, efficiency and speed-to-market.
• Influence prioritization decisions across product, engineering, and leadership.
• Stay ahead of insurtech, AI trends and translate them into a roadmap.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle: discovery, prioritization, requirements, delivery and post-launch.
• Lead cross-functional delivery with Engineering, Data Science, Actuarial and Underwriting.
• Translate complex risk requirements into crisp PRDs and user stories.
• Drive measurable outcomes: loss ratio, efficiency, model accuracy and automation.
