Job summary

Hippo, a tech-driven insurance platform, seeks a Senior Product Manager to own the Underwriting Platform, including rules engine, AI workflows, and risk models. You will lead end-to-end lifecycle with cross-functional teams, shaping the future of underwriting technology while delivering near-term value.

You will partner with Engineering, Data Science, Actuarial, and Underwriting to drive measurable improvements in loss ratio, efficiency, and model accuracy, while advancing AI-enabled workflows

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product management experience owning backlog and leading end-to-end lifecycle with a team of engineers.
• Experience with risk platforms, rules engines, ML models or automation systems.
• Proven ability to translate business problems into technical requirements and align engineering with business needs.
• Track record of improving risk and efficiency metrics at scale.
• Ability to set and execute a compelling vision while delivering near-term results.
• Strong stakeholder management across business, technical, and executive audiences.
• Data-driven decision making and clear, data-backed narratives.

Responsibilities

• Define and own multi-year product strategy for Hippo's Underwriting Platform including rules engine, models, and AI workflows.
• Identify opportunities to modernize UW infrastructure to improve loss ratio and speed-to-market.
• Influence prioritization across product, engineering, and leadership without direct authority.
• Stay ahead of insurtech trends and translate them into a roadmap for Hippo's underwriting tech.
