Job summary

Epicor is seeking a Principal Product Developer to evolve and support business-critical applications across modern .NET and legacy Pick/UniBasic environments. This hands-on leadership role focuses on mentoring developers, modernizing systems, and shaping strong engineering practices.

You will work across applications, integrations, APIs, databases, and release processes to keep Epicor’s distribution solutions reliable and scalable for future needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software development experience, including Windows Forms development.
• 3+ years of experience in VB.NET (web and/or Windows Forms).
• 4+ years of experience in the distribution industry or related domains.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience with software testing methodologies and defect resolution.
• Proven ability to lead technical work and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to propose, evaluate, and implement new technical ideas.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing other technical professionals.
• Strong customer-service mindset and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to act as a technical thought leader and change agent.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, develop, test, and maintain software systems and applications.
• Provide technical leadership on complex development initiatives and projects.
• Partner with Product Development, Product QA, and cross-functional teams to ensure change, testing, and release requirements are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects in partnership with Product QA.
• Mentor and coach other developers.
• Deliver formal and informal technical training.
• Advocate for software development best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and CI/CD.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for Epicor products and processes.
• Promote consistent engineering standards and Epicor development practices.
• Contribute to technical decision-making and timely delivery.
• Represent Epicor's technical expertise at events.
