Job summary

Scribd, Inc. is hiring a Senior Product Designer to drive growth across Everand and Fable. You’ll design experiences across the journey from free users to long-term subscribers, collaborating with Product, Research, Engineering, Data, and Marketing to run experiments and ship impactful work.

You’ll lead growth and lifecycle design, mentor teammates, and advocate for your POV while reporting to the Director of Product Design. A background in subscription products is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience with growth, monetization, or subscription focus.
• Strong visual craft and solid interaction design.
• Shipped experiments impacting conversion, activation, retention, or revenue.
• Think in journeys, define paths when unclear.
• Daily use of AI to explore, prototype, and test.
• Passion for reading and opinions on how people discover and stick with books.
• Decisions grounded in data, research, and customer insight; defend with evidence and taste.
• Bonus: motion design, consumer subscription apps, mobile, or community products.

Responsibilities

• Own moments turning readers into subscribers across app, web, and email (onboarding, plans, pricing, referrals, lifecycle).
• Connect Fable's community with Everand's library.
• Propose tests, scope experiments with PM, set success metrics.
• Earn subscribers with no dark patterns.
• Take work from concept to production-ready while maintaining quality.
• Bring a strong visual voice to two brands; define new patterns when needed.
• Prototype early; use AI to explore directions and validate with usability testing.
• Dig into results; identify gaps; bring a POV on next tests.
• Ground decisions in research and customer insight; share work early and often.
