Job summary

Augmentis is representing a global manufacturing client in West Michigan seeking a Senior Procurement Buyer. The role supports both strategic and operational procurement, including cost savings, supplier performance, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced plant setting.

Relocation is fully provided; the selected candidate can begin remotely for 30–60 days while arrangements are completed. A strong emphasis is placed on cross-functional teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of procurement experience with purchase-to-pay exposure preferred.
• Technical understanding of manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills; comfortable with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Data-oriented, organized, and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Support benchmarking, should-be-cost analysis, and business case development.
• Assist in planning and monitoring supplier performance and compliance activities.
• Develop and maintain tools to streamline procurement execution.
• Communicate with suppliers on operational topics; support RFQ/RFP processes.
• Participate in supplier meetings and liaise with Shared Services to resolve P2P issues.
• Support buyer/planners and operations staff in executing purchase orders and resolving AP issues.
• Interface with Shipping, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to resolve cross-functional issues.
• Ensure adherence to global procedures and quality standards.
• Resolve issues related to direct materials, services, and delivery to production.
