Job summary

Cenovus Energy is seeking a Senior Staff Process and Technical Safety Engineer to oversee the implementation of Process Safety across the US Refineries and to support policy development beyond the US.

You will lead a team, drive risk-based methodologies (HAZOP/LOPA/HAZID), conduct risk training, and ensure RMP and related standards are met, while collaborating with Canadian counterparts.

Qualifications

• 16+ years in a process safety role or closely related field.
• 10+ years in Oil & Gas/Petrochemicals is a plus.
• Functional Safety Engineer Certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead Process Safety across US Refineries, including regulatory interpretation.
• Develop Cenovus Risk Methodology training for engineers.
• Oversee PSM standards, audits, and third-party studies.
• Coordinate risk analyses and ensure RMP/compliance.
