Cenovus Energy is seeking a Senior Staff Process and Technical Safety Engineer to drive Process Safety as a core competency for the US Refineries and beyond. You will serve as the US Region's SME and lead Cenovus' PSM expertise in coordination with Canadian counterparts.

You will build a team of trained Process Safety Engineers, develop risk training, and ensure compliance with key standards like PHA and RMP across sites.

Qualifications

• 16+ years in a Process Safety role or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years in Oil & Gas/Petrochemicals is an asset; Functional Safety Engineer certification is a plus.
• Experience leading multiple complex unit HAZOPs and MOCs; translate to SIL requirements.
• Experience in process safety information auditing or RAGAGEP verification.
• Familiarity with API, NFPA, CCPS codes & US regulations; RMP compliance knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Lead Process Safety across US Refineries; own methodology development and regulatory interpretation.
• Develop and train Process Safety Engineers in Cenovus Risk Methodology (HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID).
• Design and maintain a risk-training suite and QA/QC of site deliverables.
• Champion key risk standards (PHA, RMP) across the organization.
• Coordinate third-party studies (Facility Siting, Fire Hazard Analysis).
• Drive assurance audits within the PSM space.
