Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to drive technical development, design integration and execution of municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects across North America. You will lead the process discipline on pursuits and projects, guiding treatment process selection and developing design packages, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams for safe, cost-effective, buildable solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years in process development and design for municipal and industrial water/wastewater markets.
PE registration preferred.
Understanding of federal, state and local regulations related to water characterization, treatment and discharge.
Experience as process design engineering lead on design-build projects is preferred.
Willingness to travel approximately 25% (remote locations up to 40% for certain senior candidates).
Preferred experience with hydraulic simulation software (AFT Fathom/Arrow) or process modeling tools (Biowin, GPS-X, Hysys, Aspen, WatPro, AqMB, SIMBA).

Responsibilities

Provide technical and engineering leadership for industrial water and wastewater facility design including treatment process evaluation, process selection, and optimization and conduct evaluations of full-scale plant operations, pilot studies and bench studies.
Oversee and participate in the preparation of engineering reports, drawings, specifications for complex water/wastewater projects (PFDs, P&IDs, process simulations, datasheets, calculations).
Perform process systems and hydraulics modeling and scenario studies.
Provide front line issue resolution of technical issues related to design, construction, equipment and operations.
Work within a multi-disciplinary team to execute design and engineering on projects.
Interface with clients and partner engineers to support project and business development; attend client activities and build relationships.
Coordinate multiple projects and contribute to client proposals and project cost estimates.
