Job summary

Lilly is seeking an Advisor – Process Engineer to serve as a senior technical authority in the Medicine Foundry. You will guide the design, scale-up, and manufacturing support for small molecule APIs, spanning from development through pilot plant stages.

You will develop plant-wide process models, mentor engineers, and ensure compliance with cGMP, safety, and regulatory requirements, while collaborating with HSE, QA, and Operations.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related.
• BS/MS with 10+ years in pharma/biotech process engineering.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for equipment design and scale-up across small molecule node.
• Lead detailed engineering calculations, heat/mass transfer modeling, and equipment sizing for production suites.
• Drive scale-up from lab to pilot plant with safety and process control considerations.
• Review P&ID and communicate design intent across disciplines and vendors.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing processes and control strategies for drug substance APIs.
