Job summary

Lilly is building a new API GMP manufacturing site in Houston and seeks an Associate Director Process Engineering – Small Molecule API. You will lead the process engineering team, ensure reliable equipment and compliant systems, and drive optimization across startup and ongoing operations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to meet project milestones, implement SOPs, manage budgets, and scale operations to full production while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or related with extensive API/chemical manufacturing experience.
• 3+ years of experience in small molecule GMP manufacturing.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the process engineering team to support GMP API production.
• Collaborate across functions to meet site business plan objectives and regulatory standards.
• Develop SOPs for startup and post-startup phases and ensure adherence to quality plans.
• Oversee staffing, performance reviews, and development plans for engineers.
• Ensure technical reviews and approvals of documents, deviations, and change controls.
