Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our nationwide team, delivering process engineering/design and quality assurance for diverse projects. You will collaborate with Development, Architecture, and Construction groups to lead design work and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities include scoping, basis development, PFDs/P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and safety analysis. Strong communication and multitasking in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university or college.
• Minimum 8-10 years of process chemical engineering experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
• PE License preferred to seal engineering documents, with the ability to attain licenses in multiple states.
• Experience on large capital projects for clients in various industries.
• Knowledgeable with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Operations, process start-up, or construction experience preferred.
• Experience in process safety and conducting PHA/HAZOP studies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide/lead engineering design in accordance with industry codes for all phases of the process and utility engineering.
• Scope out projects and establish design basis, budget, and schedule.
• Create PFDs and P&IDs; generate material balances.
• Generate equipment datasheets and specifications for process equipment.
• Discuss plant operating data with clients to improve designs.
• Evaluate process safety and safety equipment to protect personnel and assets.
• Use internal tools such as AFT Fathom/Arrow/HTRI to complete scopes.
• Act as technical SME and QA reviewer for process design tasks.
• Apply ASME and API codes for vessel and piping design.
