Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Privacy Governance Senior Manager to lead a team of privacy engineers, advancing consent management, cookie governance, and privacy library maintenance. The role partners with Legal, Data Strategy, Engineering, and Product to ensure compliant, scalable privacy solutions across Cox Automotive.

Responsibilities include driving privacy-by-design, overseeing tech stack, onboarding brands, and managing cross-functional risk. 10%+ travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 8 years' experience or equivalent.
• Experience operating within a privacy compliance program.
• Working knowledge of U.S. state privacy regulations.
• Experience with CMPs, cookie governance, and web tracking compliance operations.
• Technical understanding of tag management, cookies, and consent signal architecture.
• Strong cross-functional communication and program management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of privacy engineers, ensuring operational excellence across cookie categorization, CMP operations, and privacy library maintenance.
• Serve as the technical SME for privacy engineering, providing ideation and architectural guidance to direct reports.
• Oversee evolution of Cox Automotive's privacy tech stack including CMPs, tag management, cookie scanning, and data inventory tooling.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities and contribute technical perspective to privacy tech investments.
• Partner with Data Strategy and Engineering to integrate privacy-enhancing technologies.
• Execute and monitor privacy compliance across the enterprise, coordinating with federated teams.
• Lead onboarding for brands and acquisitions into centralized privacy infrastructure.
• Interface with Privacy Legal, Data Strategy, Engineering, and Product to advance program objectives.
• Translate technical privacy concepts for non-technical stakeholders and drive standards adoption.
