Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a Privacy Governance Senior Manager to lead a team of privacy engineers, owning consent management, cookie governance, and privacy library upkeep. You will partner with Privacy Legal, Data Strategy, Engineering, and Product to scale privacy-by-design across products and acquisitions.

In this role, you’ll drive enterprise privacy standards, oversee risk assessments, and onboard brands into a centralized privacy program, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• 8+ years' experience in a privacy-related field.
• Experience operating within a privacy compliance program.
• Knowledge of U.S. state privacy regulations.
• Experience with CMP, cookie governance, and tracking compliance.
• Technical understanding of web tracking technologies and consent signals.
• Strong cross-functional communication and program management skills.
• 10%+ travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of privacy engineers across CMP operations and cookie governance.
• Serve as the technical SME for privacy engineering, guiding reports on solutions and architecture.
• Maintain depth across domains to support continuity and reduce key-person risk.
• Oversee privacy technology stack: CMPs, tag management, cookie scanning, and data inventory tooling.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities and contribute to technology investment decisions.
• Partner with Data Strategy and Engineering to embed privacy tech into workflows.
• Execute and monitor privacy compliance activities as a central SME.
• Support privacy program roadmap with risk assessments, data flow docs, and third-party reviews.
• Monitor privacy risk and drive corrective actions to resolution.
• Develop and maintain privacy program standards and documentation.
• Lead onboarding for brands and acquisitions into centralized privacy infrastructure.
• Evaluate onboarding posture against enterprise standards and drive technical integration.
• Create scalable onboarding playbooks for various acquisition types.
• Interface with Privacy Legal, Data Strategy, Engineering, and Product to advance objectives.
• Advise on privacy-by-design for products and third-party integrations.
• Translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and drive standards adoption.
• Settle disputes and make autonomous decisions in Cox Automotive's best interest.
