Avandra Imaging is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to serve as a hands-on technical leader across Engineering, Product, and other areas. You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and set quality standards for secure, scalable systems with high impact.

You’ll influence technical strategy, foster a culture of curiosity and craftsmanship, and help recruit top talent. The role demands deep distributed systems experience and a passion for healthcare and AI-enabled innovations.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of engineering experience across multiple stacks.
• Proven technical leader who can influence without formal authority.
• Strong practices in CI/CD, observability, testing, and IaC.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in cloud-native deployments.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Healthcare/HIPAA familiarity or compliance experience.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Passion for mentoring and cultivating high-autonomy teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead development of critical systems with reliability and security.
• Partner with product and program leaders to align solutions with needs and regulations.
• Set and evolve technical standards; address tech debt and code quality.
• Coach and mentor engineers across teams.
• Investigate and evaluate new technologies to drive scale.
• Contribute directly to codebases for architecture foundations and prototypes.
• Help recruit and onboard exceptional talent.
