Job summary

Abacus Insights is seeking a Principal Software Architect to set the technical vision for its healthcare data platform. This senior IC role translates business needs into target-state architectures across data, applications, cloud, and agent-driven development, mentoring engineers and Solution Architects as you go.

You will build reusable foundations, establish architecture standards across AWS/Azure, and partner with Security, AI Engineering, Product Engineering, and DevOps to deliver

Qualifications

• 15+ years of software engineering experience in senior architecture roles.
• Proven ability to set enterprise architecture standards and mentor engineers.
• Deep cloud, data, integration, and multi-tenant SaaS pattern experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve reference architecture for core platform (data ingestion, transformation, serving).
• Set architecture standards for scaling, HA/DR, serverless patterns, and multi-tenant SaaS on AWS/Azure.
• Lead HITRUST and GovRamp alignment with Security and Compliance from the start.
• Design scalable payer data architectures across claims, memberships, provider data, and analytics layers.
• Own design system and UX standards for Data Solutions applications.
• Translate architecture standards into skills/templates for AI-enabled engineering.
• Mentor engineers and architects through reviews and pilots.
• Establish lightweight architecture review mechanisms and measure adoption.
