Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks a Senior Principal FPGA Design Engineer to lead FPGA-based system architecture and design across multiple device families (Xilinx, Altera, Microsemi). You will translate system requirements into FPGA specs, code in VHDL, and verify with directed tests, contributing to documentation and process improvements.

The role is 100% onsite in Tucson with potential relocation support and a path to advanced programs. Candidates must hold an active U.S. clearance or be eligible.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience specifying system-level FPGA requirements and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPGA-based systems architecture and design from concept to production.
• Drive project schedules and deliverables within budget.
• Architect FPGA-based systems and translate system requirements into FPGA requirements.
• Develop and verify code in VHDL/Verilog with directed and constrained-random tests.
• Document requirements, verification plans, and user guides.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical reviews.
