Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ, seeks a Principal FPGA Design Engineer to develop FPGA/ASIC solutions for weapon-system products. You will architect and implement VHDL/Verilog designs, verify with constrained tests, and guide project teams through integration and deployment.

Required are a STEM degree with 8+ years of experience, hands-on FPGA/ASIC experience, and familiarity with Xilinx or Microsemi tools. This is a 100% onsite role in Tucson with potential relocation support.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• FPGA/ASIC design or verification experience required.
• Experience with Xilinx or Microsemi devices and flow tools.
• Hands-on integration and debugging of FPGA/ASIC devices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver production-quality FPGA releases from proof of concept to production.
• Architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and CONOPS.
• Translate system requirements into FPGA requirements.
• Design and code in VHDL/Verilog for reliability and maintainability.
• Verify designs with directed tests and constrained random tests.
• Drive projects and manage schedules to meet deadlines.
• Create documentation including verification plans and user guides.
• Coach and review work; support customer interactions and reviews.
