Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking two Principal Engineers for the Transmission System Planning team. The roles are based in Hartford, CT, with possible locations in Westwood, MA or Manchester, NH, and include hybrid work arrangements.

These roles require advanced electrical theory, extensive power system modeling, and leadership of complex studies. PE license preferred; 10+ years of relevant experience expected.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of electrical theory as applied to planning an electric power supply system.
• Detailed knowledge and experience producing results and conclusions using power system modeling and simulation software for powerflow, voltage, short-circuit, stability, and electromagnetic transient analysis.
• Essential software proficiency includes PSSE, OneLiner, PSCAD, TARA, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical specialist to transmission planning in applying advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes.
• Lead and perform reliability and/or scenario-based planning studies including various system conditions.
• Prepare documentation and testimony in support of regulatory filings or compliance studies.
