Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Lead Engineer for Transmission System Planning to guide power system studies, model development, and stakeholder coordination in New England. You will oversee studies of power flow, stability, and EMT, and drive system improvements across EMA and NH with cross-functional teams.

The role requires 8+ years in power systems planning, strong communication, and familiarity with ISO-NE, NPCC, and NERC standards, with a hybrid work model and a competitive rewards package.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Power Systems Analysis or Planning experience in an electric utility.
• Effective communication and writing skills for complex technical issues.
• Familiar with NERC, NPCC and ISO-NE planning standards and processes.
• Experience with power system transmission analysis tools such as PSSE, TARA, EMS, ASPEN, PROMOD, PowerWorld, PSCAD.

Responsibilities

• Serve as System Planning team lead for direct report engineers and coordinate transmission reliability studies.
• Lead development and maintenance of the system power flow model and assessment of proposed solutions.
• Interface with ISO-NE staff, DER, Distribution System Planning, and other groups for system impacts.
• Develop design solutions and alternatives to mitigate identified criteria violations.
• Provide study updates and present results to stakeholders as needed.
• Lead annual system assessments and identify key issues with proposed and alternative solutions.
