Job summary

Eversource invites applications for a Transmission Systems Planning Engineer based in Hartford, CT or Berlin, CT. The role focuses on modeling and analyzing the transmission system, including reliability studies and substation design, with collaboration across teams and external committees.

You will work with tools like PSSE, TARA, ASPEN and PSCAD, and programming in Python to develop planning options, assess contingencies and support project development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical preferred. Advanced degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of directly related experience.
• Experience with power system transmission analysis tools and modeling practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain system models for transmission studies, including parameters, ratings and topology.
• Conduct adequacy assessments and develop options to meet delivery objectives.
• Represent the company on regional transmission planning matters and collaborate with ISO-NE and stakeholders.
