Job summary

Eversource Energy in Hartford, CT is seeking a Principal Engineer, System Planning to provide technical leadership, conduct complex system planning studies, and advance model improvements for the bulk electric power system.

This role requires extensive experience with power system modeling and simulations, collaboration with ISO-NE/NPCC/NERC, preparation of regulatory documents, and representation on regional committees. Hybrid schedule with at least three days in the office; 2 openings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; power systems specialization preferred.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems specialization preferred.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex transmission system planning studies and model development.
• Prepare documents and testimony for regulatory filings.
• Coordinate with ISO-NE, NPCC, and NERC stakeholders.
• Represent Eversource on regional and national committees.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
