Job summary

Eversource is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead transmission planning studies and develop long-range plans for the electric power system. You will apply advanced modeling techniques to evaluate load, generation, renewables, and energy storage, and prepare expert input for regulatory proceedings.

The role supports hybrid work schedules; travel may be required for regional committees and regulatory hearings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years specialized experience in transmission planning, software simulations, and IBR modeling
• Master’s degree in engineering or science is required; Ph.D. degree preferred
• PE License preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical specialist to transmission planning and apply advanced theories, concepts, and processes.
• Lead reliability and strategic scenario-based planning studies across multiple system conditions.
• Prepare documentation and testimony for regulatory filings and present results to management and regulators.
• Represent Eversource on regional and national transmission committees and working groups.
