Eversource Energy is seeking a Principal Engineer, System Planning for a Hybrid schedule based role in Hartford, Westwood, or Manchester. The position focuses on technical leadership, complex system planning studies, and ensuring compliance with ISO-NE, NPCC, and NERC standards.

The role requires extensive experience with power system modeling, long-range load forecasting, and model development for transmission components like lines, transformers, generators, and storage.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; power systems specialization preferred.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a power systems specialization preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years specialized experience in power system design and software simulations; transmission system design/software simulation preferred.

Mansioni

• Serve as technical specialist to transmission planning and contribute to integrated power system modeling.
• Lead multi-discipline engineering assessments using state-of-the-art technology.
• Prepare documentation and testimony for regulatory filings or compliance studies.
• Present recommendations to management and stakeholders as appropriate.
• Represent Eversource on regional and national transmission committees (NERC, NATF, IEEE, state public utility commissions).
• Lead reliability and scenario-based planning studies including thermal, voltage, short-circuit, stability, PV, and EM transient assessments.
• Develop and update models; review data & assumptions from stakeholders; ensure compliance with ISO-NE, NPCC, and NERC criteria.
• Interface with ISO-NE and other departments to document electric system needs and challenges for reliable future growth.
