Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Sr Principal Engineer to lead multidisciplinary infrastructure projects across Washington, with a focus on SW and Eastern Washington. This role requires strong project management, client relations, and technical leadership.

Based in Richland or Walla Walla, WA, the candidate will drive business development and delivery excellence while mentoring engineers and coordinating with regional offices to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• PE license in WA and OR or ability to obtain within six months.
• Leadership of multidisciplinary infrastructure design from pursuit through construction.
• Strong knowledge of WSDOT DM, AASHTO, MUTCD, and state/local standards.
• Experience with PM, budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the project manager with a delivery portfolio of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to pursuit of more than $2M in annual business development across WA and OR.
• Lead business development for infrastructure projects in SW and Eastern WA.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships; identify new opportunities.
• Serve as PM and/or Principal-in-Charge for complex projects from planning through construction.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Provide technical leadership for roadway, highway, intersection, and bridge projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including roadway, drainage, utilities, structures, traffic, and environment.
• Mentor junior engineers and project managers.
• Represent the firm at client meetings and industry events.
• Promote a collaborative, client-focused culture while ensuring safety and on-time delivery.
