Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking an Electrical Subsystems Digital Senior Principal Engineer to lead digital design efforts for development guidance systems. You will architect the guidance subsystem, decompose requirements, and drive detailed design while overseeing cost, schedule, and technical progress.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in digital/analog/power electronics, subsystem architecture, and CAM/EV concepts, with strong collaboration skills and willingness to mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
• Ten years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support
• Decomposition of high-level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architecture
• Subsystem architectural design
• Experience in Digital sub-systems, systems engineering, requirement development, requirement validation, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Design, Digital Test Integration and/or Digital Supplier Management on an effector-based product
• Enhance electrical engineering skills by working with digital and/or analog hardware testing and debugging complex circuit card assemblies or electro-mechanical systems.Prior hands-on troubleshooting experience is preferred
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Lead Digital Design Efforts for development guidance systems
• Lead the architectural development of the guidance subsystem through implementation of trade studies, requirements decomposition and detailed design
• Accountable for program execution including cost, schedule and technical oversight throughout the early development lifecycle
• Support component level design and test reviews
• Raytheon has a strong culture of mentoring; it is expected that employees will be both mentors and mentees
• Collaboration with both Functional and Program higher level management
• Collaboration with Customer and Suppliers
• Assignment may require some travel (~25%)
• Assignments may include being guiding a team through several phases of hardware systems lifecycle such as designs and analysis; architecting new electronic systems; developing and documenting subsystem requirements and test plans; peer reviews of designs as a subject matter expert; presentations to peers, management, and government customers; and root-cause failure investigations
