Job summary

nVent is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the development of next-generation power distribution architectures for hyperscale datacenters. The role encompasses designing innovative rack-level topologies (AC, DC, HVDC) and guiding multi-disciplinary teams through rapid prototyping and validation.

You will anticipate industry shifts, collaborate with market vendors, and shape solutions that enhance efficiency, safety, and scalability in AI-driven environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience required; 15+ years preferred in data center, power electronics or telecom power systems.
• Experience architecting innovative electrical systems and bringing concepts to market.

Responsibilities

• Define and architect innovative rack-level power distribution topologies (AC, DC, HVDC).
• Investigate solid-state protection, intelligent power switching, metering, and AI-enabled load balancing.
• Evaluate and integrate power sidecar systems, in-rack busbars, and modular busway concepts.
• Translate ideas into manufacturable, standards-compliant solutions.
• Guide engineering teams in rapid prototyping and proofs-of-concept to validate concepts.
• Anticipate industry shifts (AI-scale, 1MW+ racks, OCP-HPR) and propose next-gen architectures.
