Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Roy, UT seeks a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to lead cable and harness design for the Sentinel program. You will own the Special Test Equipment statement of work from concept to delivery and serve as a SME within the team for Cable, Harness and Instrumentation.

The role requires a DoD Secret clearance, CAD/harness expertise, and mentoring responsibilities; you’ll collaborate with Manufacturing, Lab Integration and Test to meet schedule and test requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 8+ years of experience or Master’s with 6+ years or PhD with 4+ years.
• US citizen with active DoD Secret clearance at time of application.
• 3+ years CAD design tools experience (NX, CATIA, Capital).
• 3+ years cable/harness design experience, following military/aviation standards.
• 1+ year experience with MIL-STD data signals and harness components.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, development and delivery of harness design solutions.
• Define electrical drawings and interconnect diagrams for test lines.
• Convert system requirements into cable/harness requirements.
• Mentor engineers on harness design and interconnects.
• Review designs and provide sign-off on harness wiring diagrams.
• Support lab concepts, routing, voltage drop and capacitance analyses.
